http://bii.ia.ac.cn/bi-2017/index.html
THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF BRAIN INFORMATICS (BI) : “Informatics Perspective of Investigation on the Brain and Mind”
Brain Informatics (BI) started the exploration as a research field with the vision of investigating the brain from the informatics perspective. Firstly, Brain Informatics combines the efforts of Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, AI and ICT to study the brain as a general information processing system. Secondly, new measurements and informatics equipment, tools and platforms are causing impending revolution to understand the brain. Thirdly, staring from its proposal as a field, Brain Informatics is with the goal of inspiring future Artificial Intelligence, especially Web Intelligence.
About Special Session on BigNeuron Project
BigNeuron is a community effort to define and advance state-of-the-art of single neuron reconstruction: an essential unsolved challenge in brain science. The special session is aimed to review the progress of the Bigneuron project and discuss the state-of-the-art neuron reconstruction and analysis methods. The session will contribute to the field by discussing exciting research and methods in neuroinformatics from the BigNeuron community, broadening our thinking about the computational methods that facilitate biology discoveries, and investigating cutting-edge software tools for large-scale neuroimaging data analysis.
The special session invites researchers and scientists to submit their high-quality, original works in neuron morphology reconstruction, analysis, and all other related areas to BigNeuron project.
The topics include, but are not limited to:
• Neuron tracing and reconstruction
• Neuron morphology analysis
• Microscopy image processing and visualization
• Large-scale morphology data analysis
• Morphological cell type classifications
Authors should submit their abstract with a word limit of 500 words using our online submission system. Accepted abstract submissions will be included in the conference program, and will be published as a single, collective proceedings volume.
Important Dates
• Submission of Abstracts: July 21, 2017
